Semi-final stage guideline

SEMI-FINAL STAGE PROCEDURE AND GUIDELINE

Dear colleagues, parents and participants,

We would like to inform you that according to the new procedure for the remote implementation of the LIT Strong Words Contest 2020, in the period of March 22 to April 5, 2020 the LIT Academy’s Independent Jury Committee reviewed and evaluated the applications submitted by more than 2020 participants within the framework of this year’s competition. Only independent and highly qualified professionals were involved in the application evaluation process, ensuring the impartiality of the process and excluding any conflict of interest.

LIT Academy congratulate you and would like to inform you that the LIT Academy Committee, in the result of the summarization of the evaluation results, has decided to select a maximum of 8 participants from each class of each region (48 participants from each region) who will pass to the next semi-final stage.

The list of the participants who scored the most points and passed to the semifinals, according to the corresponding identification data, is presented below, according to the regional distribution.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN STEPS FOR PARTICIPATION OF SEMI-FINAL STAGE?

Step 1

From the new list of the poems/speeches defined for the semi-final stage, select the work corresponding to the class of the participant and learn skillfully. The works of the semi-final and final stages are dedicated to Memory, Solidarity and Compassion theme.

STEP 2

Shoot a video where the participant presents his / her work and post it on YouTube.
The corresponding video guide for posting the video on YouTube is available at the bottom below, with an active link.

STEP 3

Complete the application form by entering the YouTube video link in the relevant section. The application form is available at the link below.

THE DEADLINE FOR THE APPLICATION SUBMISSION IS MAY 9, 2020

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

✔️ The semi-final stage will also be implemented remotely. The participants, as already mentioned, will again choose a work, will shoot a video and then will submit the applications to the jury for evaluation until May 9. Based on the summary of the results of the semi-final evaluation, the participants who took the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be selected in each class of each region.

✔️ The participants who will rank the 1st place in each grade will receive a full scholarship for the participation in the LIT Innovative Summer School to be held in August 2020 and will be invited to participate in the National final contest to be held in August during the LIT Innovative Summer School.

✔️ The participants in the 2nd and 3rd places will receive a 50% scholarship to participate in the LIT Innovative Summer School if they co-finance another 50%.

✔️ Within the period of April 6 – April 10, all the participants who have passed the semi-final stage will be additionally informed about all the details of this stage by the E-mails and telephone numbers provided during the registration period.

✔️ All participants of the “LIT Strong Words” contest 20 20 will be provided with official certificates, the officially certified originals of which will be available at LIT regional offices after the situation stabilizes and the risks are overcome.

✔️ Based on the summary of the results of the semi-final evaluation, the participants who took the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be provided with valuable prizes by the project’s partners and sponsors.

SEMI-FINAL STAGE MAIN RULES

✔️ The participants must choose and recite a work only from the list of works for their grade. Students who will submit works from the list for other grades will be disqualified.

✔️ The participants should not use any special thematic clothing or items to make the speech more spectacular. If participants do not follow these rules in their videos, they will be disqualified.

✔️ The participants should not use musical instruments, sing or perform their chosen work in any other way than reciting. Students who do not follow these rules will be disqualified.

✔️ In the videos submitted in their applications, the participants only have to present their name and surname, mark their community and school and present the original work. They should not present a preface or other introductory speech to make the speech more influential. Students who do not follow these rules will be disqualified.

FINAL PROVISIONS

For the organizers of the “LIT Strong Words” contest, the safety and health of children is a priority. In order to prevent the existing risks, we recommend to follow the relevant instructions of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia and the World Health Organization for the prevention of coronavirus.

The results of the evaluation of the Yerevan and Goris regional physical competitions held on February 29, 2020 are unchanged and are not subject to re-evaluation. The participants who have won all the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in these competitions will be considered in the context of the opportunities given to the participants who will win the same positions in the current semi-final stage.

We would like to inform the participants who did not pass the first round of the competition that your applications were evaluated completely impartially and received positive scores, but as a result of this year’s high competition they were not recognized as winners.

We appreciate your diligence and hard work and look forward to your next year’s applications.
